CIHC TEAM HOCKEY
Columbus Ice Hockey Club offers opportunities for all hockey players between the ages of 5 and 18. CIHC has Learn to Skate and Learn to Play as well as developmental programs for players that are new to the sport. We also participate in the Columbus House Hockey League (U12 & U14) as well as offer U6/U8/U10 CIHC House Hockey. The excellent coaching at CIHC focuses on skill development and growth for players at all experience levels.
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Players between the ages of 5 and 18 are welcome to play. CIHC offers opportunities for players that are U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
The season begins in mid October and runs through March.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
In mid October, player evaluations are held at the Chiller rinks. From November through February, on-ice practices and most home games are held at the Ohio Expo Center, Taft Coliseum.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Starting in November, on-ice practices are 2 times per week. These are typically held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings at the Fairgrounds. CIHC also offers off-ice practice on our synthetic ice at Thompson Recreation Center throughout the week. Goalie practices are held on Wednesday evenings.
Games
Teams will play 12-14 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Jerseys are required, you may use one of the club's ($25.00 deposit) or one purchased through CIHC. Each player will receive a reversible jersey before the first game (with paid deposit) or one that was purchased. Total cost is $50.
SEASON 2024/2025
To register your child in the CRPD/CIHC hockey team program please click register button below. There is a 2 step process, once you have paid registration fee and entered your USA Hockey # please finish registration for your players age group:
14U/16U/18U player just follow the registration button below.
It is important to note that the coaches will make the final determination whether the player will be placed on the hockey team or in learn to play hockey. If your child is moved into Learn to Play Hockey you will be notified via email and fees will be adjusted accordingly. If you made a request to 'play/practice up' with this registration we will be in contact with you after evaluations as well.
To complete registration through our secure site, you will be required to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit so please have your credit card or checking account information available. The balance of your season's fees will be collected through CRPD's Active Site.
If your family needs to apply for financial assistance, please fill out the Scholarship Application and register using the button below. Be sure to select the "Scholarship Participant" option, and pay a $50 non-refundable deposit, the balance of a scholarship awardee will be based on an individual family's situation, determined by the Scholarship Committee.
